Marietta Waters Music

Marietta Waters is an American vocalist, born and raised in the Philadelphia area. Singing was a way of life in her musically talented family.

Both of Marietta’s parents were professional entertainers–Mary Waters a dancer and Arthur J. Waters a pianist.

As a child, Marietta loved to sing and perform with her parents on stage. In the years to follow she evolved into a successful solo singer, songwriter, producer, and vocal coach.

Marietta Waters Music in the Eighties

Marietta’s solo career flourished in the post-disco eighties era. Under the name Marietta she released several singles and appeared on movie soundtracks for several top grossing films, including Top Gun and Fire & Ice.

In an enviable career spanning four decades, Marietta toured and recorded with a number of top musical artists. The long list includes Sergio Mendes, Oscar Castro-Neves, Harold Faltermeyer, Giorgio Moroder, Berlin, Animotion, Donna Summer, Elton John, Olivia Newton-John, Crystal Lewis, Dave Grusin, Cyndi Lauper, The Cars, Huey Lewis, Jeffrey Osborne, Lee Ritenour, Ringo Starr, Tony Bennett, Stevie Wonder, and Maurice White and Verdine White of Earth, Wind & Fire.
