Frank Marsico Music

Frank Marsico is a jazz musician and composer originally from Philadelphia, where he was in high demand as a percussionist. Now based in Los Angeles, Frank continues to compose and perform for live audiences and on recordings. In addition to a wide range of percussion instruments, he plays vibraphone, marimba, keyboards, and harmonica.

Being a drummer first helped very much technically speaking since I already was able to hit things with sticks. But musically speaking, it would definitely have been much easier if I had arrived at the vibraphone via the piano.

Tiki Oasis Goes South of the Border

Frankie’s Baja Marimba Mania debuted on the music scene at Tiki Oasis 11. The popular tiki party event occurred on the Pacific Ocean coast in laid-back San Diego, California.

The band is an independent project by vibraphonist Frank Marsico, created specifically for the annual tiki festival’s “South of the Border” theme.

Frank is a master on the vibes, and also plays drums, marimba, keyboards, and harmonica. The Baja Marimba Mania band includes Frank’s daughter Liv, percussionist for The Cold War Kids; Warren Giancaterino, former bassist for Sergio Mendes; and drummer Larry Klein.
